Below is an email I received from Ouch on June 10th. It seems her
English has greatly improved.
For those that did not read emails from her before I need to explain
that the term father seems to be more of courtesy. My driver in Phnom
Penh also calls me "father".
Ouch was my waitress in the Jasmine Angkor Restaurant in Siem Reap
last October. I had gone there at almost closing time and we had a
time to talk.
Ouch asked if we could exchange emails as that would help her to read
and write English. I agreed and asked her permission to give her
email address to others.
Anyone interested in helping ouch can get the email address from me.
It may be better than it was a few months ago. Ouch was using
internet cafes which are expensive so it was a long wait between
emails. She recently started English and Computer classes.
Ouch (pronounced ooge) is an attractive 25 year old dainty Cambodian
lady.
She works about 9 hours away from her family. So she does see the
family often. May one time a year.
