[asianamericanromance] Re:The Old Man

An old man said to his son there are two kinds of people ….Good Hearts and Bad Hearts….He then said there are Givers and Takers. He said you first have to ask yourself who are you? Good, Bad or a Giver or a Taker? He went on to say if a taker marries a giver more often than not the taker will take until the giver has no more to give and then move on to the next giver. If a taker marries a taker they will discover this after time and play on each other until they can escape and find a giver to play on. If a giver is very lucky and meets another giver they will most often have a long and happy marriage and surround them with only givers. He told his son life is very short and the truth in life is very simple..Most cannot see the truth because it is very simple and people always like to think too much and not follow the heart. He told his son to follow his heart not his mind and be giving and truthful and he would see a wonderful and beautiful peace in his life. Walk with your heart in all matters and keep a smile on your face. You will endure and be very happy!!End of Story

Jimmy:

In my humble experience and with my most modest advice:

#1 country: Poland

#2 country: Dakar

#3 country: Afghanistan

#4 country: Quebec(they want to be on their own; so you can have them)

#5 country: Cote de' Ivory

#6 country: The North Pole if you like nose rubbing

Or: any country where Alberta Tent & Awning has a Burkha franchise; many of

the ladies there would fake romanticism just to get out of the blanket.

Like that; or: you could come up with your own list. Start travelling.

GAWD: who knows?

That question has no answer.

That's like eating a can of beans and then wondering which one gave you gas.

Romance begins with you, Bubba.

Care to weigh in on that one ladies?

Re: [asianamericanromance] Re: Most Romantic Asian Country

I believe the americans or the europeans will be more comfortable in the Philippines, because of the cultural influences they have from these countries. And also the restaurants and most of the malls are based on the western influence.

plus of the advantage of the Philippines to be able to speak the english language. Plus being under 300 years in the Spanish colony and 30 years under the americans...i think
it does leave a big influence of the present situation.

Big time difference in the cultures Khwan:

One is Catholic; the other Buddhist.

History, mores, beliefs, poverty & wealth.

Re: [asianamericanromance] Re: Most Romantic Asian Country

Yes, because the Philippines, they are more on the mixtures of western and spanish colony and the malay. The difference is, that the Philippines, have more vast influence of both world of the western and the european culture. One thing good is that they are more
english speaking people in the philippines than on thailand.

Re: [asianamericanromance] Re: 10 Things That Men Want in a Woman

I think you are absolutely correct!!  One thing that started our relationship off on the right foot is the fact that neither one of us was looking for a partner, so the first thing to develop was an appreciation of each other and things went on from there.

John S.

In a message dated 6/15/2010 2:26:42 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, djtruo@yahoo.com writes:
That is quite interesting.

I believe that the most important factor in predicting success in a relationship is the ability to be yourself.

When two people meet for a first date, both sides automatically try to look nice and act nice to create a good first impression, which means that what each side sees on first glance is not an accurate overall view of the other person.

But as a relationship continues, two different things happen, gradually and simultaneously: (1) both people automatically tend to return to their *true self*, and (2) each side figures out the other side's rules, expectations, preferences, etc., and makes adjustments to try to accommodate them.

I believe that the health of a relationship depends primarily on how well (1) and (2) can co-exist. In other words, I think it's most important that each side feels that being his/her true self is acceptable to the other side, and that each side does not feel need to maintain a fake show (to pretend to be something he/she is not) in order to be loved/accepted by the other side.

It caused me to poll some of my guy friends, and come up with a list of our own:

Re: [asianamericanromance] Re: Any other Asian man White woman couples here?

I'm sorry to hear about your experiences, but I'm not too surprised.  I've observed a lot of racism under the surface over the years.  My fiancee is Japanese American, and once got punched out by some character on December 7th, blaming her for Pearl Harbor!  And her father was in the US Navy!  Kind of like those characters back in World War 1 who thought it was patriotic to kick dachshunds.

It's amazing the number of people who seem to look for excuses to be mean to someone.

I notice that (relatively speaking) there no longer appears to be that much racial problem around big cities.

Interesting. So you think things have gotten much better since you were growing up? What about your children? How do they feel on the subject?
