As the Author of the China Marriage and K3 Visa Guide I am often asked, How long does it take to get your Chinese spouse to the U.S. after a marriage in China?

The time-line has increased over the past 4 years because of the increase in work load of our Consulates overseas. In 2009 the the time it take after a U.S. Citizens files their paperwork with USCIS is about 10 months until a foreign spouse receives the first of 2 letters from the U.S. Consulate.
