They say "Foools rush in".
32 years ago Gina and I were married in a civil ceremony in Taiwan.
We had accidently picked a day that the Chinese consider a good day to get married. They used 2 rooms for the weddings and married the couples in groups of around 25 couples at a time. While the ceremony was held in one room the other room was set up with the brides, Grooms and two witnesses for each couple. The family relatives and friends could watch.
We were not able to book a restaurant to celebrate because all had been booked. Gina's sister and brother-in-law hosted the dinner for us in their home.
Being married to Gina is wonderful. She gets angry and yells at times which I do not deserve. I just call her my "Chinese firecracker" and laugh. I do not try to change her.
Ours was not love at first sight. We had known each other for 24 to 50 hours before I proposed marraige. I had to get back to work and waited a month to get 4 days off from work to return and marry.
She needed an exit visa from Taiwan and a visa to come here. She was getting the run around from the U.S. people which made me angry and I telephoned the equivalent of an embassy in Taiwan. I talked to man in charge and told him I would come over there if it would help. The next morning Gina received a call saying her visa was ready. I met her in SFO about 30 days after our wedding and we flew to Chicago together.
