SHE STARTED IT! :P Ok now that we have received a few more responses from her it is starting to seem more like a cultural difference In this country expressing how much assets you demand of your furutre husband is not going to go over very big. It makes you sound like you have a price tag for your 'services' and we know what that is called (prostitution) And I wonder if you understand the value of $2million USD- it is less than 1% of the population that has that kind of money (that would be considered very very rich) I had a Thai friend who told me about this- thinking in terms of millions of Thai Baht was common - so it is hard not to talk or think in millions of USD.... but the ratio is now about 40 tb to 1 usd. And it is hard to imagine that all US people are not rich. 1 million thai baht is only about $25,000 usd. One potential girl friend I met told me her family expected me to pay them $1million USD for marriage to her. I had to explain to them that it was the same as 40million tb - when they really only meant $5,000 usd (but hiked it up higher, because they think all americans are rich) But people in USA RARELY talk in terms of millions of USD. That is still one hell of a lot of money For example- a nice house can be purchased for $100,000. A castle (like the one I own) can be purchased for $450,000. Some areas of the country had homes approcahcing 700K to $1million but those over-inflated price days are long gone- wiped out in the real estate crash last year. You are considered in the top 10% of the country if you make over $100K, but taxes take at least a third of that, right from the start. --- In asianamericanromance@yahoogroups.com, "Khwan" <khwan@...> wrote: > > Time to move on.
